Here's a French door set for a bathroom. There had been a bi-fold closet door in use for years, but after several repairs, it was time to replace the hollow, light-duty doors with something more substantial. The bathroom is situated off a landing by an exterior door, at the top of a stairway. It's a step down from the main floor of the house, with a low ceiling thrown in for fun. A pair of 12" wide doors were needed because of the tight clearances. A handle and latch bolt on the inside (not apparent in the pictures) allow the doors to be locked. Made of solid pine, with veneer plywood for the panels, solid brass hinges and hardware, they should last a while.
In the shop, doors ready to install.
In and painted.
This shows the tight area.
Looking out.
